About Organization

Background

AEYE is a non-profit company registered with the intention of creating centers for computer programming. The target is any young child who is interested to learn computing and its power. We aim to make programming a thing that African kids can do before they even get taught in the formal learning environment.

We hope we can assist in tackling the many challenges ravaging the majority of the previously disadvantaged people in the country. We believe that with computers, kids can begin understanding computers, once understood, we hope that they will start thinking about the many ways computers can be used to solve many problems facing their communities and the larger African community.

Programming can help develop discipline, research skills, reading culture and general efficiency as an individual. The knock-on impact is unlimited.

The 4IR wave has hit us for a couple of years now, yet Africa and South Africa are not participating in this change at the rate that the country and continent should be. The 4IR is a reset button that the world has needed to rebalance past injustices. However, this is not happening for everyone. AEYE has identified that one of the limitations of progress is exposure to the world of technology. The best exposure many Africans have to technology is through consumption as opposed to the back-end, problem solving, futuristic thinking that the first world countries enjoy.

AEYE is in the process of registering for a PBO status.

The name AEYE (read as A-I) speaks to the vision of the founders. The names translate to many things, Artificial intelligence, African perspective, through the African eye. The use of artificial intelligence from an African Perspective, looking at the world through an African eye and etc. We would like that the definition expands we progress along industrializing the mind.
